The journey beings in Kathmandu, the heart of Nepalese culture and the countries’ largest and most interesting city. Here you will spend a day absorbing the bustling city streets taking in the environment where you pass by timeless shrines on one side of the road while a local peddles authentic handicrafts nearby. With a certain mystique, Kathmandu is a wonderful blend of Buddhist roots coupled with a strong Hindu influence that needs to be experienced to appreciate. You will see everything from the bustling backpacker hub of Thamel to the worlds ‘largest stupa to Hindu cremation sites and maybe spot a living Hindu Goddess in between. After a day exploring Kathmandu you will board your flight and begin the trek.

The morning flight to lukla is a breathtaking experience as you are shuffled into a small plane seating at most 10 people. Make sure to stay awake to catch breathtaking views of the Kathmandu Valley and the surrounding mountain scenery. Upon arrival in Lukla the journey truly begins as you begin your trip to basecamp.

From here on you will spend your days hiking and getting accustomed to the hospitality and warmth offered by the indigenous people inhabiting the small mountain towns. Each stop has its own charmes ranging from the bustling Namche Bazar to the quiet tranquil villages where you feel like living in a tiny bubble surrounded by the beauty that is the Everest Region. Here you will have a chance to speak with Sherpa's  whose families have guided the trails for generations and experience first hand their wisdom about one of the worlds most popular trekking destinations. Couple this with home cooked meals of Daal Bhat and other authentic Nepali cuisines to truly give you a taste of Nepal

The trek passes along the traditional Route passing through Khumbu the capital of the region before passing along the scenic Imja Khola river passing through by daunting forests featuring local flowers such as the rhodedendrons, magnolia and countless other flowers whose colors truly illuminate your hike as you work you way to the valley that lies below Everest. The trek it self passes through an enchanting array of small villages each with their own story and opportunities for photos and fireside chats as you create memories that will last a lifetime.

Along the path you will have the chance to visit a secluded mountain sanctuary in Thyangboche perched nearly 4 kilometers into the snowy mountain scenery. The stunning views provided a short hike from the monastery make for an unforgettable sunrise experience as you work your way up in the dark of the night making your way down the path under the banner of early morning stars and moonlight.

Following a descent to Imja Khola and through the quaint villages of Pangboche and Pheriche you will arrive at the Khumbu Glacier. Past the glacier is Lobuche, an unparalleled vantage point supporting views of some of the worlds tallest and most impressive peaks. This leads to to Kala Pattar located 5554 meters above sea level. Every step of the journey is one step closer to the awe-inspiring sights that reward devoted trekkers. The views of Everest must be experienced to be described and there is a common bond amongst adventurers who make it to truly experience Everest.
We then work out way down to Everest Base Camp where everyone who has ever climbed to the top of the world has stayed and you can literally walk in the footsteps of the most daring men and women in history including Sir Edmond Hillary. As you work your way back to Lukla you will as always form a strong bond with your guide as they give you insider secrets of the region, dazzle you with the complexities of the mountains, sherpa culture and maybe even teach you some Nepalese so you can haggle over souvenirs in the local language.

In Summary, the Everest trek is one of the worlds most popular for a reason. Few people can say they truly climbed the world's highest mountain and saw the top of the world with their own eyes. At the end of the day you will realize that the true reward aside from the breathtaking views and photos is the bond you build with your travel partners and guide without the everyday modern distractions you take the time to form lasting memories and bonds with fellow travelers that along with the photos and souvenirs will last a lifetime.

The neighboring cities of Patan and Bhaktapur provide immense historical, cultural and religious significance. Day 4 Trek to Namche [3450m]:
From Phakding, we cross and re-cross the river over an assortment of high suspension bridges. Beyond Monjo is the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was established to protect and preserve the fragile mountain environment. We then take a steep hike to Namche. If the weather is clear, we get the first glimpse of Mt Everest. Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu region and boasts a lively Saturday market serving as a meeting place for the Hindu traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have crossed the glaciated Nangpa La.

Day 5 Rest day in Namche:
Namche is tucked away between two ridges amidst the giant peaks of the Khumbu region and has an abundance of lodges, teashops and souvenir shops. It is an ideal place to spend a day while acclimating to the new altitude to prevent any health problems before heading off towards Tengboche. To acclimatize, you can visit either Khunde Hospital established by Sir Edmund Hillary or take a one hour walk up to the Everest View Hotel above Namche for the sunset view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest. We get our first really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. After passing several villages and numerous teashops, we descend steeply to a bridge over the river at Phunki Tenga. The village is an ideal stopover for lunch where we can rest before making the steep climb to Tengboche. Although the hike up the zigzag path is tiring, it presents us with many beautiful sights of rhododendron bushes with beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. A spectacular panorama of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam waits upon arrival at the campsite.

After another two hours of walking we will arrive at Pheriche.

Day 08 At Pheriche:
A day for rest and acclimatization spent wandering up the valley to look at the Tshola Tsho Lake and the perpendicular walls of Cholatse and Tawache. We will scale the ridge overlooking Dingboche for the view of the Imja Valley and the incredible south face of Mt.Lhotse.

We continue up the wide valley beneath the impressive peaks of Cholatse and Tawache. We then turn right and begin a steep climb towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. The teahouse at Duglha will provide a good spot to rest and have lunch. The trail continues to zigzag up through the boulders of the glacier's terminal moraine. At the top of this climb there are many stone Cairns, built as memorials to the many Sherpas who lost their lives climbing Mt Everest. The path then climbs gently along the glacier, to eventually reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche.

Day 10 Trek to Gorak Shep [5184m]:
To reach our next stop, Kala Pattar, we continue on the Khumbu Glacier. The trail offers superb views of the surrounding mountains, especially where the path is forced to rise to cross a tributary glacier. We stop for lunch at at Gorak Shep and enjoy the views. Later in the afternoon, we make our way to the top of one of the finest viewpoints in the Everest region, Kala Pattar [5554m]. As the light begins to fade we stroll back to our camp at Gorak Shep and have an early night in preparation for our trek to Everest Base Camp the following day.

Day 11 Trek to Everest Base Camp [5357m]:
A very early start is required to reach the Everest Base Camp. It takes several hours as the trail weaves its way through ice pinnacles and past the crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. On the return leg, we can take a higher route to get a spectacular view of the Khumbu icefall and the route to the South Col. We return to either Gorak Shep or Lobuche.

Day 12 Trek to Pangboche [3985m]:
Today’s trek is mostly downhill as we retrace our steps to Duglha and descend to Pheriche, we will arrive at The Himalayan Rescue Association that serves as a trekker’s aid post makes for an interesting visit.
